Pottery and Mosaics
Join Artist Jane Bresser as she creates various pottery pieces and
mosaics. From animals, to tiles, to picture frames, Jane and your
child will create wonderful pieces to be treasured forever!

Tae Kwon Do

This class will teach the skilled applications of basic punches,
blocks, kicks and dodges. Learning self defense is also incorporated
into this class. Instructor Megan Mitchell has a black belt in Tae
Kwon Do and has been teaching this class at the studio for over 2
years.

Cartooning

Students will draw their favorite cartoon characters, work in teams
and learn some basics of cartoon animation. The class will use
cutouts of their drawings and apply the cartoons to separate
backgrounds. We may sculpt colored clay of cartoon characters to
learn three dimensional animation which is known as claymation.
Cartoons tell stories and have beginnings, middles and ends. The
teams will work together to develop their stories. This class is
taught by Stan Litz.

Ceramics

In this class, students can choose from many ceramic pieces, paint
and glaze them. Students can be as creative as they like while
painting their master piece. This class is very enjoyable not only
for our students, but for the whole family. As with all our classes,
siblings and parents may also sign up to take this class. Join John
Blaylock for this fun and creative class.

Painting

Learn to paint with Stan Litz. Many of you know Stan from his
cartooning class and now he would like to share his painting talents
with our students. Stan is a wonderful artist and has been teaching
at Rising Star for a year. His cartooning class is one of the more
popular classes, just as this class will be!

Square Dancing

Swing your partner round and round! This is a wonderful parent/child
class. John and his wife Jackie have been square dancing for many
years and enjoy sharing their talent with our students.

Line Dancing

Students will have a great time learning classic line dances such as
Electric Slide, New York New York, Macarena and many more! This is a
wonderful parent/child class. Line dancing is a great way to move,
learn coordination and work with others. This class is taught by
Jackie Blaylock.

Come Draw with Me

Come draw with our newest teacher Lisa Mendon. Learn to draw what you
see and have fun sharing stories about your pictures. This is a
wonderful exercise in hand-eye-coordinati on. Lisa is an artist and
mother of a teenage son with Aspergers.

Friday Night Friends

(Please note this class description has changed from the previous
session.)

This is a social night for our older students (10 &up). Each week the
students will meet to play games, watch movies, make a craft or
various other fun and entertaining activities. The whole purpose of
this class is to allow the children to socialize and have fun meeting
new friends. The cost of this night is to assist the studio with the
food/games/crafts that will be provided for everyone. This class will
be organized by Lisa Mendon.

Please note all our classes our open to parents, siblings and friends
of the studio and remember a studio membership provides discounts for
the entire family.
