Art In Early Years
Instructor:  Alice Foraker
Open to 3-7 year olds, this class will feature art and sensory experiences using multiple mediums. We will address tactile issues, processing new environments, socializing in small groups and self help skills. Activities will be offered, encouraged and modeled as participants self explore new art opportunities.

Independent Living/Social Skills
Instructor: Paul Meisenhelder
Students will participate in daily living activities such as food preparation, cleaning, washing and folding clothes and other household tasks. The class may also go into the community to go to the grocery store or a retail store, participate in a recreational activity, and perform some sort of community service such as cleaning in a park or assisting at a local soup kitchen or food pantry.

Intro to Photography
Instructor: Dave Capano
Participants will learn to tell a story through photography. The main emphasis will be on creative expression using whatever cameras students have access to, whether it is film, digital, or even cell phone. The class will also integrate basic photography skills such as holding the camera still and what makes a good picture. Intermediate topics (such as manual exposure) are offered to students who wish to excel to this level.

Jewelry Making  
Instructor: Jane Bresser
Join Artist Jane Bresser to create various jewelry pieces and mosaics. Students will make necklaces and bracelets that can be kept, given as gifts, or donated back to us for selling. Jane and your child will create wonderful pieces to be treasured forever!

Lifeskills - Computers
Instructor: Dave Capano
The course will be tailored to meet the needs of the participating students. This session we focus on e-mail, internet browsing, safe social networking and typing.

Mixed Media Art
Instructor: Sally Soderlund
Students will draw, paint, sculpt and create two- and three-dimensional art while exploring various media. Students will receive individual instruction on the value of content and color in their creations and be encouraged to explore art in areas of their own interest, while working at their own pace.

 

 

 

 

 

Mosaics  
Instructor: Jane Bresser
In this class, we will take glass beads and other clay pieces and make mosaic flower pots and ornamental yard art.

Music Therapy, ages 3-7
Instructor:  Betsey Zenk Nuseibeh
It’s tough to be 3 (or 5, or 7)! All of a sudden your parents want you to start going to school, being around other kids and following directions from an entirely new set of people! This weekly music therapy experience will address how to be a part of a group, take turns and learn to effectively communicate your needs and wants…but be careful…you might just learn to play some music and have fun while you’re working!

Music Therapy, ages 8 & up
Instructor:  Betsey Zenk Nuseibeh
Have you ever wanted to be part of a rock band? Here’s your chance! Students will learn to play their choice of instruments: keyboard, guitar, drums and don’t forget voice! Through a variety of adaptations, all ability and experience levels will find success. Band members will learn what it feels like to take turns choosing preferred music and to play together in a group.

Painting & Drawing
Instructor: Sally Soderlund
The course will be customized to meet the interests and capabilities of the class. Activities include drawing, learning basic watercolor or soft pastel techniques and drawing from life and photo references. Composition, value and color mixing will be explored as well as the expressive possibilities of the various media used in class

Yoga & Movement 
Instructor: Cezarina Trone
To keep our bodies healthy and limber, we must take the time to stretch, breathe deeply, meditate, and even roll around on the floor. This class gives a few ways to strengthen and stretch the body. This class will have participants moving and getting loose, stimulating the brain by challenging the body with yoga postures!
